HOW CAN YOU LOOK AFTER YUSUF & AMINA?
Yusuf and Amina are excited about their future with a baby on the way and the prospect of a new home in a new part of the country, it was going to be a busy few months. Yusuf works as a laboratory technician in local pharmaceutical business near to where they live. He’s recently been told, as part of a restructuring of operations, the company plans to relocate his department to a new site some 200 miles away. While it was a significant move, he and Amina saw the opportunities for their soon to be expanded family.
Assuming everything was proceeding with the job relocation, Yusuf and Amina had started to prepare for the move. They found a three-bedroom house in a quiet area, a short commuting distance to the new laboratory location. Their offer was accepted, surveys and searches were completed, and a moving date was agreed.
Then Yusuf received some awful news. His employer advised that after a review of the restructure plan, his role was going to be made redundant and he would not, therefore, be relocating. He had real concerns about the decision and raised these with the company but did not receive a clear answer.
He was not only about to lose his job, but he and Amina could not proceed with the move and would be facing financial losses because of the money they’d spent on conveyancing related fees.

PROTECTING CUSTOMERS LIKE YUSUF & AMINA
Thankfully, Yusuf and Amina already had access to Addept's Legal Services Club as part of their existing home insurance policy. Yusuf was able to speak to an employment lawyer about his concerns on the redundancy decision. His concerns were validated and he was advised there were grounds for a claim as he was unfairly selected for redundancy. Yusuf and Amina were also able to use the much broader cover available under the Legal Services Club to cover their conveyancing fees from the aborted house move.
Traditional legal expenses insurance products only focus on providing cover for contentious matters with many of these rarely being experienced by customers. These products do not directly address the real needs of customers and with FCA Value Measures revealing the low levels of claims frequency and acceptance rates, traditional personal legal expenses insurance products face a challenge. Despite attempts by some providers in the market to enhance their offerings, there is a big question mark over their continued relevance.
Addept Insurance's Legal Service Club has been designed to address this gap in meeting customers' needs. It provides advice, support, and cover on a wider range of contentious and non-contentious matters including conveyancing, matrimonial matters, divorce, wills and power of attorney and other common legal matters customers face.
Legal Services Club provides customers like Yusuf and Amina with much needed peace of mind, accessing professional advice and the opportunity to recoup their costs and helping to refocus their view on the value of personal legal expenses insurance.
