Established by Richard Finan, a founder of Arc Legal Assistance, a market-leading legal expenses and assistance insurance Managing General Agent, we bring our partners decades of experience and expertise in the design, development, and distribution of ancillary insurance products and services in the UK and Ireland.

 

Our market experience and product knowledge mean we understand the challenges distribution partners face in finding relevant ancillary solutions to meet the needs of their customers that deliver fair value.

Meet the team

Richard Finan

Our founder and Managing Director, Richard Finan, has over 30 years’ experience working in the ancillary and add-on insurance market, including 20 years in senior management positions. Richard was a founder of market leading legal expenses and assistance insurance Managing General Agent - Arc Legal Assistance, which was acquired by AmTrust Group in 2016.

Together with our advisory group and our strategic business partners, we bring decades of experience and expertise in the design, development and distribution of ancillary insurance products and services across a range of industry sectors.

The Addept Advisory Group

This group of non-Executive Directors bring Addept a wealth of knowledge and senior management experience across the UK insurance market sectors we operate in. The Group includes:-

Paul Tasker

Paul is an experienced leader working in the technology and insurance sectors. He founded Lloyd's Broker Tasker & Partners and lead the business through an acquisitive growth period as Tasker Insurance Group, which was subsequently acquired by Livingbridge backed Jensten. Paul is currently CEO of REG Technologies, a leading SaaS provider to the global insurance market.

Helen Withers

Helen has over 20 years' in finance and senior management roles in the ancillary insurance market. She co-founded Arc Legal Assistance with Richard and led the business as Managing Director/CEO for 16 years. Previously, Helen, who qualified as a Chartered Accountant some 35 years ago,  was Finance Director and then Managing Director of Capita Assistance’s Legal Expenses Insurance Division.

Mike Fenton

Mike has over 40 years’ experience in the UK motor and household insurance markets focusing on underwriting, distribution, claims, and business development. Mike was previously the Personal Lines Director of Folgate Insurance Company before being appointed as Managing Director of Folgate Underwriting Agency Personal Lines and Towergate Personal Lines Underwriting Division. Mike is co-founder and Director of Lares Services Limited, a specialist Managing General Agent in the property insurance market.

Jon May

Jon has over three decades of experience in the Personal Lines insurance market, the majority of which in senior management positions. His career has focused primarily on underwriting, including over 20 years in Lloyd’s Syndicates. He has co-founded MGAs in the motor and property markets. His current roles are Director of Lares Services Limited (UK Property insurance MGA) and Chief Operating Officer of Gibraltar regulated Evolution Insurance Company.

Dave Bowcock

Dave has 35 years’ experience in the UK and Irish Personal Lines insurance markets. He is Managing Director of Principal Insurance Ltd, the award-winning UK specialist Personal Lines and Fleet broker which he founded. Dave has held several non-Executive directorships and has the Institute of Directors certification and a diploma in company direction.
